About us

Umsebenzi Wethu Foundation is a registered South African non-profit organization (Reg. No: 291-680 NPO) dedicated to empowering youth and women through health, education, arts, culture, sports, and community development. Founded in 2023 and based in KwaMaphumulo under the Nsungwini Tribal Authority, our mission is rooted in collective responsibility—“Umsebenzi Wethu” means “Our Responsibility.”

We believe that sustainable development begins with empowered communities. Our work focuses on addressing the social and economic challenges facing marginalized groups, particularly adolescent girls, young women, and vulnerable children in rural KwaZulu-Natal. We implement community-based, peer-led programs that promote health, reduce poverty, prevent gender-based violence, support education, and nurture talent through sport and culture.

At Umsebenzi Wethu Foundation, we are committed to transforming adversity into opportunity. By equipping individuals with the skills, knowledge, and support they need, we help them break cycles of marginalization and build brighter, self-reliant futures.
